More, further to this. This time from Hindustan Times.

(Click on image to read entire article)

I really enjoyed the article & I thought it captured the true essence of the Pune blog camp, including some funny excerpts from the introduction section, where one guy said:

“My blog is for guys who have no girlfriends”

And, yours truly did also get a few (more) seconds of fame with these kind words:

Sakshi meanwhile, like a true celeb, is least affected by all of this. While I am all *yayyyy* & jumping about in spirit (ok, in reality too), she’s like “What’s all the fuss about woman?”

Cannot think of a suitable comeback since I’m still yayyyy-ing & jumping about.

PS: Thank you P for telling me about this article first thing in the morning!

  1. Should I really jump with joy after you make “me” a case-study and thereby more prone to Blog Stalkers…..nope I don’t think so. ;)

  2. BTW great job with the presentation but I guess you already know that.

  3. @ Saks: You weren’t the only case study I used & ANY publicity is good publicity right? So yes, jump!

And thx for saying I did a good job with the presentation. Many have already said, but still feels good to hear :)

  4. Congrtaz…

now you too have become a celebrity… :D

  5. Hey blogger populaire :)
Any chance of you sharing this presentation everyone’s so talking about?

  6. It’s always good to see a regular ‘update’ on your blog. By the way, I’ve sent you an email on your gmail account. I had interviewed you at “BlogCamp Pune.”

    Waiting for your reply…..

    Thanks.

  7. And you just keep getting more famous. Check this out….Link.

  8. But I am sure you would hv prefered to be on IBN live than on the newspaper. Sorry agar mein Jale pe namak nahi dal rahaan hoon :)

  9. @ Anshul: A pseudo celebrity ;)

@ Anand: Hello hello! Howz you been?! No, have decided not to put online. Have my reasons.

@ Jayanand: Yes, saw your mail. Will reply.

@ Saks: !!! Who would have thunk !!!

@ Amit: Actually apart from the initial disappointment of my interview being edited out, the high of being in the CNN clip (even the 2 seconds!) is still with me. So every addition is a still higher high!

  10. “While I am all *yayyyy* & jumping about in spirit (ok, in reality too), she’s like “What’s all the fuss about woman?”

Well, if I was ever even mentioned in any newspaper, I’d also jump around like that only. :)

  11. I read some nice reviews navigating from yor blog. I attended the event just to see what/how things are happening. The whole thing was not so impressive. Unconferences can also be nice, neat and tidy..Somehow, I was dosappointed about the whole concept and the implementation.

I attended your talk alongwith my friend Dexter (www.horizontalrings.com) as the topic was interesting to us. Somehow, you have not got to the core of the problem or whatever you said was more superficial. I think hardly anybody really understood the topic. I must say you got nice response from the people but not very sure if the topic actually reached them seriously.

I dont do any blogging but the impression I got from the whole event is that all the bloggers are just writing to get more number of hits and make money from the hits and related advertising. Also, it could be more of referring to each other by commenting..

I wish my perception is completely wrong. Probably, I will have to start my own blog just to keep the basic blogging spirit alive. :-)

btw, we are on the ibnlive video in the background during Sakshi’s AV clip. Thanks to you and Sakshi for giving us coverage ;-)
    Say Hi!! to Sakshi also..
    Happy blogging!!!

  12. I missed your presentation @ BlogCamp Pune, but i hear from everyone that it was impressive.

  13. that was gr8 presentation melody…..

and also i liked the way u managed the chat show of the very interesting subject.

    gr8 going…

  14. Mind your head, it’s about to hit the ceiling! :D
Congratulations, Mel… you deserve it. (It being the article, not banging your head)

  15. Unhappy I missed it!

  16. hmmm… i miss being in pune.
    hope y’all had a gr8 time…

  17. @ Bikram: :) thx for the empathy!

@ sudhanwa: Well I blog just because I love to & I know many others who do so too. The money, if any is useful especially when running one’s own domain (for hosting etc) but at the end of the day, if we did not love it, I don’t think any of us would be doing this - especially since most of us have regular jobs that have nothing to do with our blogs.

@ Prashant: Thank you. Did we meet?

@ Parimal: Thanks Parimal. The debate (to which I think you’re referring to) was moderated by me as an impromptu thing as I thought the originally intended moderators weren’t doing anything & everyone was just yelling out their points of views.

I have my own opinions on things but I do believe in letting everyone share their point of view - especially since the platform (of the debate) was made for this reason.

@ dev: Idiot :P And thank you!!

@ IC: Thank you very much. Really.

@ Aquariius: I did definitely! Also went to German Bakery afterwards, and bought Ashram chappal, and had a walk, and …. Yes, I had a lovely time!

  18. hey hey don’t rub it in, as it is i am missing pune.. vada-pao outside pride, the place for its yummy sizzlers, driving around,..hmm i could go on…..looking fwd to going back soon, i hope.
hey there are some new malls there now, did you go anywhere?? me, im a self-confessed retail junkie.. gotta have’em gadgets - cheers

  19. wooohooo!! Thats brilliant I say!
So now, we’l be seeing more and more and more of you? ;)

  20. @ Aquariius: No didn’t get a chance to go to any malls, but wouldn’t even if I had. Too many malls in Bombay. What I would do is go to the cemetery - you know the lovely one with beautiful gardens? Simply stunning!

@ Perspective: lol, dunno girl. But rest assured, if there is any more press, you’ll hear about it here!

  21. Gosh,…..You were in pune ?? And i didnt even know . I didnt even know there was a blogcamp happening !! Darn …another opportunity to meet the famous “melody” missed :(

  25. Star Blogger Melody, may be you should pay me :)
On a serious note, it was a really interesting event and the discussion about Traditional Media Vs New Media was really good. Though many people misunderstood it be MSM Vs Bloggers.

  26. @ Ray: Yw, cya around!

@ Tarun: Well I think we did clear that out sometime during the talk.
