So I was thinking (yeah, it does happen once in a while, now ssshh & listen)…. Where was I? Oh yeah, I was thinking - what are romantic things to do in this city? Couldn’t come up with any great ideas myself, so thought I’d throw the question out, at you lot who read this. And for good measure, will make a contest out of it. You may win yourself a prize (maybe a stupid online button like last time) or maybe I’ll just ignore you. Either way, let me know what you think.
The Qs was: What are romantic things to do in Mumbai?
* If the question’s a bit vague, you can tell me what romantic things you would do / have done in Mumbai
* You can give me as many things to do as possible (the more the better).
* I do not think making-out/having sex equates with romance, so please self-moderate to save me the trouble. Merci.
And before any of you ‘wise’ ones ask, am not getting into what made me think of this in the first place. Just answer the qs, ok?

Whoa! First comment. I feel like I have been shoved in front of a crowd on a stage.
Hmmm…. My 2 cents go to browsing books together at Landmark…
Ya… I know its geeky. And its also a definite ‘would do’ (as opposed to a ‘have done’)

i guess ur trail of posts was headed this way….
so anyway.. to get to ur question..

2. sit by the sea..
3. have a chat on the terrace…
4. get lost @ elephanta
5. midnight drives around the city
6. i like vijay’s suggestion too.. but u cant do it for too long..

I remember watching a Hindi movie called “Bluff master” that had quite a few restaurant scenes that showed the Bombay skyline. The skyline of Mumbai looks so enticing and alluring from these sky high restaurants. Having dinner with your loved one in one of these restaurants would be pretty romantic I guess ( Don’t want to get to fluffy here). I have never lived in Mumbai but if water skiing, Para sailing is available you should try them during the day. What do you think? Do guy stuff during the day, Girly romantic stuff at night.

Hmm now dunnoe if that’s avaiable in mumbai - you guys (from mumbai) should tell me.

PS: Good to hear from you after so long! How’s Golu?
@ Gps: Heya, howz America doin?! Very nice suggestions, you’re definetely in the running.
@ Mario:
I love the Mumbai skyline too… the view from the Intercon’s Dome is fabulous as is the Hilton (formerly Oberoi) poolside. Haven’t seen Bluffmaster (don’t watch Hindi movies) but loved the soundtrack.
@ inexile: “will have”… yes I hope so. Don’t want to spend eternity in singledom, though am enjoying it right now
@ Brat: Closest thing to that would probably be the ‘Salt Water Grill’ at Marine Drive… don’t think there are any other places on the beach - anyone please feel free to correct me if you know better.
There’s also Vie in Juhu but it’s kinda off the beach rather than on it… which is fine, have the feeling I don’t want things from Juhu beach to be floating on my feet…

Yikes! Whoever said anything about a ‘gentleman friend’? I was thinking on the lines of a gentle woman. Besides, why would you read when browsing? Just nudging and saying, “hey look at this!”
Like a collective journey of discovery.
Golu is fine and growing fatter as we speak.

@ Vijay: You’re like the sweetest guy! I know you try to be all tough et al, but some girl’s gonna be so blessed with you… I can just see you nudging gentle woman… awwww cho chweet…

With all due respect (and apologies for the off-topic comment), I am tougher than you think.

Hmmm… just make him dinner or better yet just call for pizza, hand him a beer and let him play the Xbox 360. All the romance a guy needs. We have simple needs, unlike the Venusians. =/

had no idea so much planning went into ur planning
to answer ur question, the pitts are good… crazy weather city i must say.. but nice so far.
back to the topic, how abt renting out a yacht for a day! (feasible? i dont know. fun? of course!) or go for a trek. ok, maybe a walk in some quiet garden, or a quiet corner of the beach.
food with a view?
ambassador, way up there in the revolving restaurant
new taj terrace. (its actually for meetings i here, but u can try)
fly down to blore, and visit the thirteenth floor.
easier still..
rent/download a nice movie. draw the curtains in the house, and enjoy it over some pop corn or nachos and cheese or tortillas and salsa or boiled corn.
now dont ask me what a nice movie is!
