It’s the beginning of a new month & I thought I ought to update the old blog. It’s a shame I still don’t have broadband - after over three years of living with the internet on 24/7, it’s amazing how quickly one adjusts to not having it. I thought I’d cold turkey - and I kinda did at first, but I’m a survivor. Kick me on the ass with anything and I’ll still bounce back, still stay afloat.
The last two weeks I’ve not blogged have been bitter sweet. The first week was crazy & the world seemed like it was tumbling down & falling apart. Throughout the craziness though God stood firm with me (my good Shepherd!) and brought me out of the dark valley. Last week was so good that it seems so far removed from the one before. Am peaceful & I praise God for it.
Have been upto all sorts of things. Been catching up with a couple of friends. The wonderful Ana graced Bbay with her presence this Parsi New Year (a belated but very very happy new year to any Parsi readers I may have!). To celebrate we all went out to Copper Chimney for dinner.

The usual suspects included DV (minus shiner!!), Sony, Geh, Prem & of Ana & Eri. Most of them in top form. One of two very badly behaved indeed. It’s good to see that even grown ups can behave like children sometimes ![]()

Also got a chance to check out another restaurant called “The Village“. No, it’s not out of a M. Night Shyam film, it’s the real thing. It’s another world once you step into it - I guarentee that you’ll love it.

Only problem is that it’s in Khandivali. Raghu Leela Mall (don’t even ask how I got to that part of the world!) and is almost out of the normal world. Once you’re there though, it’s worth the experience. Not saying more, do go & check it out.
Made time to spend with both my godchildren - the first who threw up all over my new Tommy Hilfiger (thx darling) and the second who’s looking more and more like a “Big Girl”. Awww you guys are the cutest ever.

Had work at the Marriott and got a chance to see the new and improved Juhu Beach all spruced up (or in the process) and I must say, I’m very impressed. Thank you to all the civic authorities who’ve made this happen. I don’t know what finally got your goat after all this time, but whatever it was, praise God. The beach actually looks like a beach!
News in India makes me not want to read the papers (come on what’s with all the press over Rahul Mahajan’s wedding? People are we that stupid?? & this new professor beating thing makes me sick). So I’ll go back to my own small world. I’ll pray. I’ll do whatever I can to make this world a better place. And what I can’t help, I’m going to try not let bother me. After all when sin abounds, Grace abounds.
There were a couple of movies I wanted to check out, but didn’t end up going for any of them. Hopefully I’ll make it to “My Super Ex-Girlfriend”, the premise of the film seems, I dunno, just so gooood ![]()

I do not know what Harsh and Dev are talking about, you do not look fat. You look ravishly beautiful in those pictures I am not just saying it. So keep those restaurant and club reviews going.

@ anumita:

They are twins, and how come one kid has hair and other doesnt???

You giving too much tension to the first kid??

comment.
Actually even I am LIKE THAT ONLY!!!

And as for the babies - the baby in the first pic has a twin who’s not in either two pictures. The second pic is of another baby totally (different parents!!) and she’s a half year older than the twins (which perhaps accounts for the more hair thingie)
&
to you & dev

My brains are a lil rustic as you can see, can’t think logically.
I guess it happens when the wife is almost ready to deliver and the
infant is sick.
Well now you are being modest, Even the best flower always has
fragrance which adds to the beauty. Sounding Poetic huh!! And
trust me this is not a pick up line, but dont you think it makes a
good pick up line. Speaking of which, I saw this one in June ‘06 US
edition of Elle “Did you see my piece in the New York Review
of Books!”

Merci about the “being modest” thing. Have friends who’ll SWEAR that the words modest and Melody don’t go in the same sentence.
September 8th, 2006 at 2:21 am
You came home so early and that too from a party? What a shame!! LOL!
I am the one with a pregnant wife and a baby
I was at a doc’s office one day, waiting and so browsed through the June edition of Elle magazine and there was something on pick up lines that I read. So when I was commenting on your blog, I felt like as though I were writing a pick up line. So I was sharing what I thought was the best pick up line from the list in Elle.
I was really bored at work so you see all this is the result of that.
September 8th, 2006 at 2:25 am
And thx for explaining the whole pick-up line thingie… lol
September 9th, 2006 at 1:36 am
Hey you have dark hair, I would have to repeat a few times for the blondes here…. just kidding… I think the whole world should party hard!! and not go to bed every single day of the week.
Have a great weekend. I am going home early as I have to make dinner for the wife and the baby!
September 9th, 2006 at 2:47 pm
Thx for the “have a great weekend” but I’m actually stuck at work the whole of today (Sat). Am in between presentations right now. Sigh.
You enjoy!

Copper Chimney is brilliant. There are several right? We went to the one in Phoenix Mills which also has an Italian section (Spaghetti Kitchen) which apparently is just as good. Superb food!
