It’s been a long week. Haven’t been blogging, but assure you I did think of blogging ;) Hope you all have been great!

Started off the week, Sunday 2nd April, by going out with the ghost of Christmas past. Went to the most amazing place in the city to eat - seriously - if the intention was to floor, I was totally floored, 100/100. It was a restaurant cum bar called ‘The Dome’ and is at the very top of the Intercontinental Hotel on Marine Drive. As such, it has a fabulous view of the queen’s necklace & truly the Mumbai Skyline looks fantastic in the night. We had a couple of drinks in the closed bar before moving out into the open-air dining area. I love stargazing & this place simply blew my mind. The company wasn’t too bad either ;)

From there we moved onto ‘Wink’, supposedly the new happening place in Mumbai. It’s in Hotel Taj President, where ‘The Library Bar’ formerly stood (next to Trats). Unfortunately for us, it wasn’t happening when we went (though lots of friends have been raving) so we just did an about turn & headed towards ‘Not just Jazz by the Bay’.

Jazz is one place I usually enjoy but unfortunately for us (again) this time we didn’t like it too much as it was filled with babies. Like my friend said - most of the guys there looked like they had come straight after their Prelims :D … and that the rest were 12. Sigh, the perils of being old. We cut the night short & headed home. Wink, Jazz & babies aside though, it still was a good night .

Monday 3rd April was pretty much stuck in work the whole day. Tuesday 4th was a bit better. Started off by some meetings at Hinduja Hospital. Their marketing department lobby looks like a five star hotel, quite different from the rest of the hospital! Also had a great view of the interconnecting passageway between the two buildings & the sea beyond (though I’m not sure how much you can see from this pic).

Met up with a friend & headed into the city for lunch at Joss (Kala Ghoda). Had some very up-yer-nose mustarted Sushi (just the way I like ‘em!), Sea Bass & Steaks. From there it was over to the Taj to pick out desserts from ‘La Patisserie’. Was running terribly late by this time, but my shopaholic friend still managed to convince me to stop at Vijay Sales & check out some TVs & home appliances.

Evening, headed over to the prayer meeting as usual. Was fabulous - had the Blessed Sacrament exposed & a time of repentance, praise & worship led by the youth of the group. I was particularly on a high & felt like dancing all the while, very happy, praise God :)

Ended the night (& actually went way into the next morning) with dinner at A. Susan’s. Met up with the cute Mamu after ages & the very crazy (& I say this in the nicest way) Espy who kept us entertained into the wee hours of the morning with mad tales of Bali.

Wednesday 5th & Thursday 6th was at the Taj Land’s End for the 2nd Hotel Investor’s Conference, South Asia. Most of the big wigs in the industry were there & it all went off very well. Also, must add that I saw tons of really cute guys. They all were yuppies and all were pretty yummy. Ok, will stop.

Wed night also went into the city to hear the Cantata Choir sing at the NCPA, Experimental Theatre. My darling Geh is part of the choir & they performed a host of German & Latin music, a lot of it (if not all) Mass related, hence lots of Alleluias, the Kyrie Eleison, Credo etc.

The theatre was house full, though the crowd was not very “theatre cultured” remarked one of my oh-so-theatre-saavy friends. Ok then.

Went out for dinner with the Star of the show (imo) & four others to ‘Moshe’ near the Taj President. Though Geh (who throws out Ritu Kumars, remember?) frequents the place, it was my first time (I’m just this simple person!).

Met up with the owner Moshe Shek though (who also owns Basilico) & he came over to say hi. The place offers Mediterranean, Turkish, Moroccan, Israeli and Italian. All very exotic stuff. The place too is very well done up, like Indigo, it’s an old bungalow turned into mediterranean restaurant. Must see, must do.

Friday 7th was a quite day with not too much work. Night saw Madagascar (again! Long live King Julien) on 42″ Plasma. Very interesting stuff.

Though Friday night was late, had to get bright & early on Saturday 8th. Was busy at work between Santacruz & the Grand Hyatt Vakola & then back again to Santa Cruz. Came home only by 7pm. Had plans to have dinner at the Bandra Basilico & then go partying but I was really too zonked to go out, so had a nice & early night.

Which brings us back to do-re-me-fa-so-la-te-do…

Sunday 9th was Palm Sunday. Mass was postponed to 10.30 (instead of the usual 10am) to make way for a longer 9am Mass with Palm procession. As it were, went for the 10.30 Mass. Was a little out of sorts after having had my butt grabbed by a pevert just outside church. Did chase him a bit but I had high heels & he had a cycle so there wasn’t much of a contest. Many thanks to all those around who did absolutely nothing. Almost slapped one boy in the church compound who was grinning as if the whole episode was funny … remembered just in time about forgiveness.

Mass as a result was terrible. Wished I had someone known next to me but was all alone and clost to tears, feeling very very dirty. Told myself it wasn’t a big deal & I must be strong & even forgive the sick S.O.B. Ok fine, forgive the man.

Spent most of the day in bed & managed to pray quite a while, which is good since it’s the beginning of Holy Week. Will check in later & report how Holy Week goes. May we all be blessed.

  5. @ Sherriff: Well the way I look at it, it was not a sad ending to my week, rather just one thing that happened in the week. Had too nice a time to remember the week for that episode. In fact I rather just forget it.

Due to one reason or the other, am pretty much in & out of hotels & the like.

And as for my companion at the Dome, am not saying whom it was. Rest assured John & Dino would have a run for their money :->

@ dev: Bloggers Block? Awww, too bad… I really enjoy your wit… Still maybe it’ll be un-blocked soon?

Don’t worry about these guys Dev, seriously, they’re not worth wasting our time thinking about.

@ gps: It’s all thanks to all of you who read so regularly that gives me the incentive to sit & type it all out! Though really speaking I’ve been diarying & blogging for years now, so maybe it’s just the way I am, I like to record my life.
@ harry: Need a breather now? lol!

  7. @ Noojes: Sunset at the Dome sounds heavenly. Always have maintained that Marine Drive boasts the best sunset in the world - the fog at Mumbai ensure 100s of shades of oranges - a site just not seen in purer places! What can I say, am a die hard Mumbaikar :D
