Melody on April 1st, 2006

Well I did. But I’ll get to that in one sec.

Before that let me tell you of my darling cousin Cat & her bf Dan who’re down from U.K. They arrived on Thursday 30th evening & spent had a great time just all catching up with what everybody was upto in both continents.. Went out for dinner with most of mum’s side who’re in Bbay at the moment & it was really a good time. Incidentally, my God-daughter Sarah is really looking like a chubby bubby, love her so much!

Friday 31st made plans to party all night. And party we did!! On our way to Saltwater Grill (Marine Drive), ended up (on a whim) driving to Bade Miyan (in Colaba) & buying Kati Kabab rolls which they totally loved!! Landed at Salt Water & were joined by friend after friend… the whole group totalled 17 (yeah, seventeen!!) people! There were us Mumbaikars, several Americans & my UK two. Like someone said “I see white people…” scary stuff ;)

Had a great time at Saltwater Grill, the ambience is so totally chilled out, totally recommend the place for phirangs esp… all the ones in our group really liked the place. Cat & Dan perched themselves on a hammock for part of the night & I tried it too except that my skirt was waaay too short & it was all waaaay too uncomfortable. Regular chairs will do nicely, thank you.

After midnight & many drinks down we decided to shift the party (it literally was a party with 17 of us!) to Insomnia @ the Taj.

Being Mumbai Fashion Week, Insomnia was open right upto 3 in the morning and it was really one of the best night’s out I’ve had in a long time. It was such fun to dance the night away with so many people (kinda like a post wedding party!) and the music was really rocking!

Finished off with the Taj & bade farewell one by one to the entire gang & headed back home to pick up Del. Eli was due to reach Bbay by 4 am & I had decided to show up & surprise him (we had told him we weren’t coming). So the four of us packed off to the Int’ll airport managed to get his goose alright! Surprise Eli :D … It’s so good to see him after six months!

By the time I got into bed it was well past 5 in the morning, Sat April 1st & I had to get up by 9 to do some office work. After that had to get stuff ready for Cat & Dan who were flying off to Goa. Dropped them off to the airport just about on time for their afternoon flight.

Came home & thought I’d get some rest. Yeah right. Almost immediately after I’d changed into my sleepies, got a call from Khush. Apparently he was downstairs just outside my house & I should come out right away. He sounded quite in a hurry & I was too sleepy to argue, so out I went. … Mind you, in my boxers & gangi…

Madam looks left & looks right. No sign of Khush. Call him up only to be greeted by laughter & a Happy April’s Fool’s Day wish. Geez louise, of all bad timings. My bones are about to break.

Came back into the house & unfortunately again got caught up with work & spent most of the afternoon & evening in a semi-zonked state trying to do what should have been a simple task but was somehow taking me ages.

Evening went out for Pizza with boy who refused to pose for my cam??! Hmmm. Shall I take a pic anyway?

On the way back home dropped into Eli’s & spent some more time with Del & him. Feels like normal now! A good day, bakra or not.

Happy April Fool’s Day to you all!

Do share you stories, whether you were the bakraer or bakraee :D

@ Ajay & Dev: The reason it looks so natural is because I’m good in Photoshop :P
