Fernando Alonso became the youngest Champion in Formula One history today (@ the Brazil GP) even though he came in third (Montoya 1st & Kimi 2nd).

One of the cutest sights was the Renault mechanic who had this slogan on his T-shirt: ‘Schumacher who?’

With 2 races to go (Japan on 9th Oct & China on 16th Oct) , the youngest F1 driver is already Champion!!

Drivers’ Standings
Pos Driver Points
1 F Alonso (Spa) 117
2 K Raikkonen (Fin) 94
3 M Schumacher (Ger) 60

Constructor Standings
Pos Team Points
1 McLaren 164
2 Renault 162
3 Ferrari 98

  1. Thanks for dropping by my blog Melody :)

Though Alsonso has won this year’s title pretty comfortably, i am sure Schumi will bounce back next year.

  2. Hey Shriram :) Am pretty big Schumi fan myself! In fact was quite pro Ferrari since Nigel Mansell days (this would be 89-90ish I think). I have a friend who met Mansell & got his cap autographed & I’ve been into F1 since!…

But maybe Ferrari & our dear Schums need this kick in the butt after 7 years to not take things too easy???

Am happy for Alonso because I think he really deserved to win this. It’s sad for Kimi & Schumi though.

Here’s to a closer fought F1 next year& may the best man win!

  3. Good to know that you are a schumi fan as well Melody :)

I have been following him for the past 6 years or so and in fact at one point of time created a site for schumi. The site’s still there but am not finding time to update it nowadays :(

You are right about ferrari and schumi becoming a bit complacent this year. This year’s results must have been a rude shock to them just like it has been to us.

  4. Checked it out & it’s a nice site Shriram!!
