Our Parish celebrated it’s feast day on the 16th, so went for Holy Mass on Saturday & Sunday. Saturday Mass was amazing - Church was packed like Mount Mary during the Novenas! There was a huge “mandap” put up & tons & tons of chairs (which still was short).
Fr. Savio DeSales celebrated Mass on the feast - his sermon was EXCELLENT - he spoke about giving up “the right to be right” and instead opting for unity in the church. Lovely.
After Mass, the “nankatai” (ok, am sure that I’ve got the spelling wrong) brass band was in full form & loudly playing the church song - along with this was a whole long string of fireworks (lots of white smoke everywhere) & the church bells ringing loudly. It’s no wonder people had to literally SHOUT “HAPPY FEAST” to one another while enjoying the coffee & cake that was being served.
Love our church for this reason - despite being in the city - it still has things like this which makes us feel like we’re in a small town church & everyone’s all homey ![]()
Sunday Mass was good too - except that as organist I don’t pay as much attention as I ought. Khush joined me for Mass & afterwards we went to Mocha for breakfast. Didn’t know they served breakfast - turns out they even have a special breakfast menu & lots & lots of omelettes to choose from. Had an “Italian Don Corleone” Omelette, which like all the others also came with toast, baked beans & patatoes. Was around INR 90 and pretty decent.
Spent the rest of the day cleaning up my room - it looks fabulous now ![]()
Evening went to Otter’s Club & joined Khush and about 10 of his friends who were playing a silly card & drinking game (which was pretty similar to a game my dad once taught me called “Good Morning Lady”)… don’t drink but joined in with my Sprite. Everyone was pretty charged & loud (to say the least), lol. Had dinner & went to Jazz - which was really rocking (Sunday night!).
Am feelin’ a nasty cold comin on…
