Bastille Days and Birthdays :)

Had a fabulous b’day, yesterday 14th July, 2005 (also famous for being French Indy Day)… and before you ask - am all of 27, a little grey & hopefully a little wiser.

The bday started on the 13th itself with a lovely call from my dearest Flavia who’s in New Jersey - she called on the day ahead so that she could spend a long time talking to me on the phone (which she wouldn’t be able to do on the 14th, due to the time gap & her work sched).

Midnight saw another whole list of “We wanna be the first to wish you”-ers.. Ajay won as he very smartly decided to call before 12 & refuse to get off the line (yes, I did try to make him) until it was midnight. See his blog entry.

Didn’t get much sleep & what I got was erratic because the calls & messages just kept coming & coming. Who needs sleep though, when you have amazing friends??!!

Got a call from Khush from Toronto at around 4.30 in the morning. We spoke for a long time & he promised to call me again in the night, which I thought was unnecessary but very sweet Should have smelt a rat there itself…

Turns out he was not in Toronto at all! He had flown back & reached Mumbai at around 3 in the morning. In the night, instead of the call, I see Khush himself walk into my house!!!

He was all “Don’t make a fuss”-like but my poor mum had a major shock ) Found out that not only he, but the lot of his friends are good liars - all who were ‘in’ on the fact that he was here. Aamir purposely asked me at least thrice during the day when Khush was coming back - and I kept saying “end of the month” to him & he was apparently snickering in his head all the while!!

Besides that amazing surprise, also received tons of other blessings throughout the day:

Holy Mass @ 7.30am was celebrated by Fr. Joe (Charmaine cantored) & was extremely peaceful. Appreciated it all the more since I’m presently reading “The Lamb’s Supper” by Scott Hahn (a MUST READ for every Catholic).

Went half crazy after that - from 6 days silence to non-stop phone calls… every time I was on a call, there were incoming calls! My friends from all over the world (specially happy to talk to Ally, who’s getting married next month in Perth & Eli/Delu who’re due back from New Castle next month) & all over the city called, blessed & spent time with me - it’s truly amazing how blessed I am in terms of friendship! Praise God.

In the evening, had many friends come over & also some of the family. Had a lovely time of Praise & Worship led by Nadia (thank you) , a very silly game, lots of jiving (but, of course!), noisy singing & banging of my poor piano & generally a lot of fun.

After dinner went out to Seven & then a couple of other places (the city shuts waaaay too early) before finally ending up at Lobby (the only other people who were there, left when we entered, lol).

All in all, had an amazing time. It’s the 15th, the calls are still coming in - so many tried calling yesterday & couldn’t get through! Am tired, but very happy.

I just cannot praise God enough for all the love He’s poured out through my precious friends & family who love me. Thank you all.
